Driving directions from Puerto Plata International Gregorio Luperón Airport: From the airport, turn right and continue on Av Gregorio Luperón to the Costa Dorada resort sign. Turn right into resort and follow signs to the hotel.

Getting there: There is no shuttle bus from the airport so a taxi is the easiest way. Fare is $16–$25. Rental cars are another option and are more than $36. Fees subject to change without notice. Rental cars are available online.

Getting around: The resort is next to only one other hotel (Marien Coral by Hilton) so for more shopping or dining choices, guests can leave the hotel area and travel into the town of Puerto Plata. Public buses stop just outside the resort area and charge less than $5 for the ride compared to taxi fare of $5–$15. Fees subject to change without notice.

El Rodizio - This air-conditioned dinner house specializes in Brazilian-style skewered meats sliced at table. Sumptuous appetizer-and-cheese and dessert buffets accompany the main-course show. Reservations required.

La Hacienda - Open for dinner only, this air-conditioned à la carte restaurant serves Mexican specialties such as red snapper Veracruz-style and shrimp in pulque sauce. Reservations required. From midnight until 7 AM, La Hacienda serves burgers, pizza, and other fast foods.

El Bohio - This open-air place features "tropical" à la carte fare such as pork loin with pineapple and mango and grilled grouper on bananas. Reservations required.

La Fuente - Popular all afternoon and until its 2 AM closing time, this lobby bar adjoins a flamingo pond and includes lounge seating.

La Plaza - Wrought-iron tables and chairs and street lamps create a romantic ambience at this plaza lounge adjacent to the resort's open-air theater, where shows are presented nightly by the activity/entertainment staff.

Route 66 - Open from 11 PM until 2 AM, this spot features disco music and a lively bar.

Beach Bar - From mid-morning until nearly sunset, this casual place supplies beachniks with tropical drinks.

Amenity highlights: Surrounded by padded lounge chairs for sunbathing comfort, the large free-form pool contains a round hot tub marked by columns. Adjacent to the pool is a toddlers' pool and sand playground. Gardens with fountains supply cooling grace in daytime and romantic strolling under the moonlight.
